Kim's Wedding Flowers, Red Gerberas, New Place

Sadly Kim's wedding day was not exactly the nicest day we have had on the weather front this month but it was soon clear a little rain was not going to in any way dampen this couple's day. You will often see it said that flowers really can help create a mood or atmosphere and if you want to raise a smile on your wedding day Kim's flower of choice, the gerbera will be very hard to beat. A perfect choice to help brighten up a somewhat less than bright March day or any day in fact. Available all year round

Modern buttonhole of red gerbera with loops and spires of grass for the groom

Modern bouquet of red gerberas with grass loops and spires for our bride.

The Bristol room at New Place decorated for the wedding ceremony with a modern design of red gerberas for the fireplace and a co-ordinating free standing design either side.

Close up of the mantlepiece design of red gerberas. This was used after the ceremony to decorate the buffet table in the Arden Suite.

A simple but stunning design for the table centres. Big red gerberas in a vase lined with aspidistra leaf and on a mirror plate scattered with table crystals. Perfect for the Arden suite at New Place. I used 2 of these designs to decorate the ceremony table for the wedding to get maximum use out of them.

Many thanks Kim for choosing me to design and create your wedding flowers, I loved working with these bright and cheerful flowers and very many congratulations on your marriage.

Hayley's wedding flowers, Ivory and pale pink

Well it's only March and already I am behind on my blog. Today was a gorgeous Spring day and I spent it in the New Forest working on a stunning natural Spring themed wedding in whites, lemons and yellows. Just sorting through the photos now and I'll post them as soon as I can. Meanwhile here a few photos of a wedding I did a couple of weeks ago.

Groom's buttonhole of calla lily, singapore orchid, grass and foliage.

Teardrop bouquet of pale pink roses, calla lilies and singapore orchids. Classic but modern too. The shape is narrow so as not to hide the detailing on Hayley's stunning dress but the length is kept to give a really elegant look. Perfect for all those more fitted gowns that are so popular now and all these flowers are available all year round.

Buttonholes and corsages all ready and waiting to go. The ushers and the dads wore simple but oh so elegant plain calla lily buttonholes while the mum's wore a more detailed design of roses and orchids. The bridesmaids carried posies of roses and calla lilies.

Many thanks Hayley for choosing me to design and create your wedding flowers for you, I loved working on these designs and very many congratulations on your marriage.

Charlotte's Wedding Flowers, Classic green and white

Charlotte's wedding bouquet of ivory and pale green roses, white freesia, pale green lisianthus and a touch of myrtle. A timeless, classic and scented design made with flowers that are available all year round and I love the colours, just gorgeous for an early Spring wedding.

Mum's corsage of double lisianthus and myrtle. A perfect little flower for corsages being light and good out of water.

Classic wedding bouquet of pale green and ivory roses, freesias, lisianthus and a touch of myrtle for our gorgeous bride.

Bridesmaids' posies of roses, freesias and lisianthus. Here we used all ivory roses with the pale green provided by the lisianthus. so the bouquets co-ordinated beautifully but did not match Charlotte's exactly.

Charlotte's flower girl carried this lovely little silver wire petal basket with added pale green lisianthus.

Silver candelabra surrounded by little silver pots of roses for the reception at New Place. These little pots of flowers are proving extremely popular, here they provide the flowers on the table for guests to enjoy while the candelabra provide the impact. With all the candles lit, the effect is magical and it's an absolutely lovely look for a February wedding.

The Arden Suite at New Place with all the table centres complete. The top table was decorated with the Bride's and bridesmaids' bouquets, tea lights and little silver pots of roses.

I loved this shot, the party might be over and the tables cleared but how gorgeous does it look with all those candles lit ?

That just leaves me to say thank you so much Charlotte for choosing me to design and create your wedding flowers for you and for sharing your photos, it was an absolute pleasure working with you. And very many congratulations on your marriage.

Selina's winter wedding flowers with vintage theme

For Selina's February wedding I was asked to create designs with a strong vintage look in dusky pinks-lilacs to compliment Selina's truly beautiful wedding dress of all over vintage lace and bridesmaids in purple. And here are the finished results, Selina's vintage style wedding flowers.

Buttonhole of Memory Lane rose with eucalyptus and asparagus fern.

Vintage style bouquet of Memory Lane roses, anemones, freesias and mixed foliages for Selina. The very beautiful Memory Lane rose and the anemones are perfect for creating this look and the variegated foliage and the asparagus fern add to the vintage feel.

Selina arriving at the church looking just gorgeous in her vintage lace gown

Vintage style wedding flowers using the gorgeous mauve Memory Lane rose with freesias and anemones mixed with vintage toned foliages.

Selina's bridesmaids carried smaller co-ordinating bouquets.

And here are the girls, looking fabulous.

I love the way colours blend with the purple dresses.

Top table flowers, actually the bouquets in vases because when you have flowers this beautiful it's a shame not too. The venue is Brasserie 68 in Fareham.

Finally the co-ordinating tied design for the cake.

That just leaves me to say thank you so much Selina for choosing me to design and create your wedding flowers for you and for sharing your photos with us. It was an absolute  pleasure and very many congratulations on your marriage.

Winter wedding flowers - vintage style

With the vintage theme staying ever strong and an increasing number of winter weddings I thought it might be interesting to create some designs that combined the two influences, I hope you like them.

Winter wedding bouquet of lilac roses, pine, mini cones, paperwhites for perfume, eucalyptus and some gently glittered twigs to catch the light. The gentle colours and mix of textures are perfect for brides looking to add a vintage element to a winter wedding.

Perfect for a winter wedding table centre, a chunky candle surrounded by a wreath of lilac roses, pine, mini cones, paperwhites and glittered twigs.

Wedding bouquet of dusky pink vintage style roses, white anemones, paperwhites and mixed vintage toned foliages with candelabra design in the background.

Vintage styled wedding table centre of candelabra with a wreath of dusky pink roses, anemones, paperwhites and mixed vintage toned foliages.

A bridesmaid's posy of dusky pink roses, paperwhites and mixed vintage styled foliages.

These designs were shown at the New Place wedding fayre in February. Many thanks to all those brides that came and had a chat and I look forward to working with you on your own weddings over the coming year.

Pink peonies, mixed roses and trails of ivy make a lovely wedding bouquet and this hand tied style with trails of ivy is a lovely modern alternative to a full shower bouquet.

My shot of the bridesmaids' bouquets of roses, freesias and gypsophila topped off with a delicate feather butterfly. Lovely and fresh for mid summer.

A lovely natural photo of the bridesmaids entering the church, I loved the way the bouquets combined with their fresh mint dresses.
